Lawrence A. Evans

November 24, 1945 — August 21, 2024

Lawrence “Larry” A. Evans of Marietta, GA passed away peacefully on August 21, 2024.

Larry was born on November 24, 1945, in Canton, Ohio and was the son of Thomas J. and Eleanor Morris Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret (Peggy) Evans Wright.

Larry graduated from North High School in Akron, Ohio in 1963. He was a proud U. S. Army

veteran and served in Vietnam with the C Co, 1/327 Inf Reg, 101st Airborne Division. After

discharge, he worked for The Hoover Corporation in Canton, Ohio retiring in 2002, after 36

years of service.

Larry moved to Marietta, GA in 2005 and married Joye Landers Evans; and her beloved German Shepherd dogs as they came as a package deal. While Joye enjoyed going to dog shows, Larry was quite content to stay home with the other dogs. Larry loved football season (that might be an understatement), especially Ohio State and the Georgia Bulldogs. He loved going to the C Co 1/327th 101st Airborne reunions each year to see old friends and new ones that shared his love of our great country. In his younger years, you could often find Larry behind a microphone singing popular songs from the Vietnam era.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joye, his sister, Sandy (Duane) Moushon and several much-loved nieces and nephews.
