Leora Mae Mccurdy

Leora Mae McCurdy of Cartersville, GA joined her heavenly family on November 26, 2022. She was 96 years young.

Leora was born on May 27, 1926 in Piedmont, AL to the late Alford and Pearl Cushing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Edward Jefferson McCurdy), son (Donald “Deadeye” Edward McCurdy), daughter (Deborah Louise Jones), granddaughters (Shannon Leigh Burbank and Haley Laven McCurdy) and her beagle (Lucky)

Leora was an active and beloved resident of the Maple Ridge Health Care Facility. She was a regular attendee of bingo, arts and crafts, church, staff lunches and resident meetings. She kept the staff on their toes with candid feedback about her meals and not so secret opinions about their performance. Leora was always selfless and looked after many of her fellow residents. In her free time she enjoyed browsing yard sales and thrift stores, tending to her flowers and spending time with loved ones.

Leora Mae McCurdy was a dearly loved woman with a witty sense of humor and a beautiful smile.

She is survived by her children - Frank (Bonnie) Rainey, Vivian (Dale) Warner, Diane (Milo) Berry and Doug (Sherri) McCurdy, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous great great-grandchildren.

True to her character, Leora requested no final services. She will be in our hearts always.
