Linda Kay Smith

March 14, 1945 — November 18, 2024

Mrs. Linda K. Smith, age 79, of Acworth Georgia, passed away on November 18, 2024. She was born in Lafayette, Indiana on March 14, 1945 to the late Arthur and Naomi Howell. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Dale, daughters Andrea Murimi (John) and Julie Ard (Ken), her son Jeffrey Smith, and grandchildren Avery Doig, Graham Doig, Caden Doig, Owen Ard, Jordan Smith, and Braden Smith.

While primarily a homemaker and mother of three, in her younger years, she was employed as a surgical technician in the medical field. She graduated in 1963 from Southwestern High School in Lafayette Indiana. She then enrolled and graduated from Saint Elizabeth Hospital School of Operating Room Technicians. After working for several years at local hospitals and medical clinics, she met and married Dale, the love of her life, in 1968. Her interests in life were cooking for her family (before her diagnosis of MS prevented her from doing so), traveling, sunbathing at the beach in South Florida, eating out at restaurants, date nights on Fridays for movies and dinner with Dale, cook outs with family, and swimming at the pool. She enjoyed listening to music, including Christian, classical, and especially Third Day Christian rock. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother and Nani to her grandchildren.

Although she struggled with MS and chronic pain for years, she had an abiding faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved Psalm 46 and Psalm 34:19.

Memorial service to be held at Northstar Church, Acworth, GA at 11 am on Saturday, November 23, 2024. In Lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
