Lovona Brantley

September 19, 1942 — April 14, 2023

Lovona Brantley passed away peacefully on April 14, 2023. She grew up an “army brat” which led to a love for travel. She was a popular telephone operator with the southern accent everyone called in to talk to as well as a children’s swimming instructor and lifeguard for the YMCA where she played guitar and sang to the kids. She graduated with a degree in psychology from Christopher Newport University where discovered her talent as a watercolor artist. She taught children and adults at Acworth Gallery and during ASP at Cobb County Elementary Schools. She was always a child at heart and put a special touch into every art party she hosted. She delighted in being a Grammy, a role which she cherished. She loved antiquing, decorating, her beloved dogs, and baking the most delicious brownies to share with family and friends.

She is survived by her sister, Burna Ellis of Yorktown, VA, her three daughters, Linda Rhodes (Jim) of Jacksonville, FL, Heidi Mason (Dustin) of Chesapeake, VA, and Burna Wright (Steve) of Acworth, GA, and her 8 grandchildren, Hilary, Amanda, Noah, Gridley, Sam, Luke, Joshua, and James.
