Margaret Louise Chappell

September 9, 1942 — October 11, 2023

HOSCHTON – Margaret White Chappell, 81, passed away October 11 after a short stay in hospice care at Winder Center for Nursing and Healing.


Margaret was born September 9, 1942, in Opelika, AL, to the late Rev. Leeman and Julia Mae White. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Dacula, GA. Mrs. Chappell was preceded in death by son David Anthony Chappell, and siblings Faye Childress, Mary Dupre, and Weyman White.


She held several business and medical office positions as she moved around the country with her husband’s job. Margaret was a great encourager and loved sending cards to those who needed a word of sympathy, get well, or just an ‘I am thinking of you’ card.


Survivors include her husband, Thomas Chappell, Hoschton; sons, Michael Chappell, Tempe, AZ, Wallace (Deanna) Chappell, Auburn, GA; grandchildren Avery Chappell, Auburn, GA and Olivia Chappell, Mesa, AZ.


Following her wishes, her cremains will be interred at Garden Hills Cemetery, Opelika, AL, at a later date. No other services have been scheduled.
