Marjorie "Marge" Louise Lloyd, nee Roadway, aged 85 of Marietta, Georgia passed away on September 27, 2024 after a short illness.
She was proud to born in Weirton, West Virginia, on April 15, 1939 to the late Arthur Henry Roadway and Byrle Edna Roadway, nee McCombs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Francis Eugene "Gene" Lloyd, and her sister Gladys Elizabeth Corso. She was also preceded by beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Marge graduated from Weir High in 1957, where she excelled in sports, especially basketball. A month after graduating, she bravely made her way to Washington D.C. to work for the Department of the Navy. She would eventually be assigned to work in the Pentagon, as a secretary to a high ranking Navel officer.
Marge was a world class speller and crossword puzzler. She was a longtime Braves and Steelers fan. She was also an avid reader, and she always had a book or her trusty iPad with her.
She was a much-loved sister, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt and great aunt. She left behind her sister, Kathryn M. Kreider, her daughters, Jennifer L. Lloyd and Elizabeth Lloyd-Smith, her son-in-law Timothy J. Smith, her grandson Timothy Jacob "TJ" Lloyd Smith, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Marge’s remains will be combined with the remains of her late husband Gene, and will be scattered in the ocean at their favorite vacation spot.
