Marsha Elizabeth Austin

Marsha Austin, 81, of Sarver, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Legacy Ridge Assisted Living in Marietta, Georgia. She was born on April 21, 1942 in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of the late Robert Hayden Stroble and Margaret Stroble. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Austin.

Marsha graduated from Tarentum High School in 1960 and Fairmont State Teachers College in 1964. Marsha was a primary school teacher for 32 years at South Buffalo Elementary School in Freeport, Pennsylvania. She was an active member of Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church in Saxonburg.

Those who knew Marsha well will always remember her laugh, her joy in having fun, and her ability to make others always feel included and loved. For this reason, she had many lifelong friendships and a very devoted family.

She is survived by her daughter and her daughter’s husband, Jennifer and Bill Ratliff, and by four grandchildren, Viviana Austin-Knab, Hayden Austin-Knab, Grace Gove (Ben), and Paul Ratliff.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church with a luncheon following. Remote participation capabilities will be enabled for those not available to attend in person. A scholarship fund is being established in her name for students having graduated from South Buffalo Elementary School and demonstrating financial need.
