Marvin Lewis Luke, Sr.

Marvin L. (Sonny) Luke Sr, 75, of Grovetown, GA transitioned from this life to heaven on February 24th, 2024.

He was born in Augusta, GA on August 23, 1948 and was the son of the late John and Irene Luke. He was also preceded in death by his brother Ronnie Luke.

A veteran of the United States Army, and of the Vietnam war where he received a badge for marksmanship, Marvin lived his life as a proud patriot and a soldier in God’s Army. He had a career in trucking transportation that spanned decades and included several safety awards, including the prestigious 1,000,000 mile award for safety.

Marvin was always one to give unselfishly to others without telling other people about it, he loved dogs, motorcycles, and a cold beer after a long day of work.

Surviving family members include his dedicated wife of 55 years Rachel Luke, his oldest son Marvin Lewis Luke, Jr and his youngest son, Stephen Luke. He had 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nephews, nieces, brothers and sisters in laws that he loved greatly.

A celebration of LIFE will take place on March 16th at 10:00 AM at Stevens Creek Church, 600 Stevens Creek Rd Augusta GA 30907.
