Melanie Allen

Melanie Allen, 58, of Portsmouth, Virginia, went to her final rest on the morning of June 24,2022. She was born to John and Audrey Hickman on July 21,1963. Melanie started her early education at Brighton Elementary School and completed it at Cradock High School. She then went on to obtain her welding certification from Tidewater Maritime Training Institute in the local shipyards, while also attending Tidewater Community College in the Administration Assistant Program. Melanie was a very caring person who chose to help others whenever she could. Although she had just move from Virginia to Georgia in 2018 she became a very likable person in the neighborhood. She had formed a special bond with several people in the neighborhood and they enjoyed spending time together. Melanie is survived by her son Terry and his wife Nikki and their two children, her son John and his two children, her daughter Jasmine and her two children and her son Jerrit and his one child. She also leaves behind her mother Audrey and her brother Tony and his wife Sophia who reside in Georgia. She will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, and good friends and relative in Virginia and Georgia. For the last few years Melanie spent a lot of time helping to take care of our mom. She will be truly missed by all who had the chance to meet her. There will be a memorial celebration for Melanie on Saturday August 27, 2022, at 2 PM EST. It will be held at the waterfront in Portsmouth, Virginia at the second ferry dock. REST NOW LITTLE ONE, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE LOVED.
