Michael Robert "Mick" Wiles, Sr., 84, of Tucker, GA passed away peacefully, with his loving wife by his side, on January 30, 2023, after a long battle of declining health. Mr. Wiles is survived by his wife, Janice Wiles who was the love of his life; their 3 children, Michael Robert "Rob" Wiles, Jr., Barry Tyler Wiles and wife Beth, and Ginger Lorraine Wiles Moss and husband Derrick; grandchildren Kaylea Wiles, Braydon Moss and Natalie Moss. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Barton of TX; nieces Cathy, Cindy, and Candi and their families. Additional survivors include Mick's extended family of in-laws, whom he loved dearly.
Mick was born in Wichita, KS on June 30, 1938 to RC and Doris Wiles. Mick grew up in Houston, TX and graduated from Texas Tech University. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, and was honored to be a Veteran. Mick and Janice met when he was a patient in the hospital where she was his nurse. They truly had a "love at first site" story, and have been happily married for almost 60 years. They both spoke often about their wonderful and adventurous ride through life. Mick, with Janice always by his side, loved fishing, hunting, camping, and exploring. He loved the mountains, rivers and lakes, but he also had a deep seeded love for the southwestern desert.
In his early years, Mick worked for the IRS. However, the indoor office setting was not for him so he left that career to become a self employed Taxidermist. With his love of the outdoors and all wildlife, this became his lifelong occupation.
Mick loved his family with his whole heart, and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. We will remember Mick's smile and laughter, and we already look forward to seeing him again, as we know he now walks with God.
A Celebration of Life service will be planned in the coming months and announced later this year.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of Symponia Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Mick and Janice during the last few months.
Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers, and sign the online guestbook if you will.
