Minnie Marie Berry Coates

August 4, 1952 — November 12, 2019

Minnie Marie Berry Coates was born in Warm Springs Georgia on August 4, 1952, but she was raised in Miami, Florida. Her parents John and Minnie Bunyan were thrilled about their newborn daughter. An exceptional scholar, Minnie flourished in school. She leaves behind two loving siblings: Mary Grier and Kurvin Hubbard. During early adulthood, Minnie settled into a quiet life in Brunswick, Georgia. It was there she created many fond memories with her four children: Christopher, Jerome, Tiwanna, and Solomon - who everyone lovingly calls "Nokie." In 1988 Minnie started a new career at the Omni Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. She and her boys settled into this wonderful city and quickly made new friends who became family. Everyone knows how much Minnie cherished her collection of Minnie Mouse Dolls. She could tell you who gave them to her when she received them and something special about each one. Minnie LOVED to laugh. She had a hearty laugh that one could never forget. In her favorite blue chair, watching television ... Lifetime movies and Hallmark Channel especially was her favorite thing to do. She had a "green thumb" and was an exceptional gardener. Her plants thrived in her care. Hosie Coates was smitten by Minnie's beauty. He loved her, her fun personality and brought out the adventurous side in her. He was not only her husband, but he was also her partner and friend. After her retirement from AON, they traveled the world together and enjoyed each second of life together. From your husband, children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews and friends: "Just as time knew to move on since the beginning; and the seasons know exactly when to change. Just as kindness knows no shame; Know through all your joy and pain ... that I'll be loving you always."-Stevie Wonder
