Nadine Elizabeth Knowlton

Nadine Elizabeth Knowlton, 93, born June 6, 1928 in Monroe County, Ohio to Bertha and Arthur Neuhardt, passed away on June 28, 2021. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles, her parents, sister Marie Green (Ed), brothers Dick and Vernon (Beverly), infant son Kenneth and son Ronald (July 2013). Nadine is survived by 4 children, Sherry Palmer, Brenton (Dottie Armstead) Knowlton, Charla (Jerry) Shallenberger, and Merry Knowlton; sibling Delys (Max) Bodenhausen; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Nadine came from a close-knit loving, devoted family and was raised on a working farm where hard work was deeply valued. She married Charles Knowlton in 1952 and was his nurturing, supportive loving companion until his death in 2013. Charles had been diagnosed with terminal cancer in 1963 and Nadine made a vow to God that if his life was spared she would support and follow him anywhere his faith would lead. She admirably and wholly kept that vow, moving all over the nation many dozens of times in their life together, especially after he became a minister for the Living Church of God. As a minister's wife she was a difference maker to many people, humbly setting an example of what true love and commitment looks like. She made one final move to Marietta, GA from Columbus, Ohio in September 2019 with daughter Merry to be near family. Nadine was beloved and everyone knew her to be a very unique, self-less, compassionate and thoughtful person with a terrific sense of humor and she will be deeply missed by all. She will be honored and remembered by family with a celebration of her life at a home gathering in Marietta, GA and then family in Ohio will receive friends at her interment on July 8, 2021 at 2 PM next to Charles at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E.
