Nancy Sackville Barrows

Nancy S. Barrows, age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 2, 2021 in Decatur, Georgia. She was born in Long Branch, New Jersey on February 26, 1938 to Robert and Patricia Heisel and grew up on the “Jersey shore” with her twin brother Richard and older brother Bob. Her love of the ocean remained strong throughout her life. Nancy spent much of her life in Bel Air, Maryland married to Lee Owen and raising three children, Bill, Bob and Patti. She had a gift with clothing and opened a dress shop, Ye Wooden Hanger, with her best friend and business partner, Pat Garnier. Throughout her life, she was a successful salesperson due to the fact that she never met a stranger and loved helping people. She also loved animals and had many, well-named pets over the years…Wimbledon-touché, Mr. Magoo, Kang-Si, and Pretty Girl - just to name a few! She is survived by her three children - William Lee Jr. (Joyce) Owen; Robert Alfred (Patty) Owen; Patricia Lynn (Player) Owen; eight grandchildren - Angela (Dennis), Billy (Lindsay), David (Julie), Lauren (Michael), Michelle (Jimmy), Rob (Katelyn), Graham and Kellett; 13 great grandchildren; her friends at Clairmont Oaks, Holy Trinity Parish and countless others whose lives she touched. She will be missed by all for her kindness, tenacity and sense of humor! There will be a celebration planned for a later date.
