Peggy Jean Durham

Peggy Jean Brown Durham passed away on April 17, 2022. She was born in Shelby, North Carolina on April 17, 1936 to Estelle Gosnell Brown and Olin A. Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Billy James Durham, her sister, Brenda Brown Scruggs, her sisters-in-law, Doris Durham Pate and Geraldine Moore Brown, and brother-in-law, Cecil Pate. She earned an associate's degree in Accounting and worked for Ranger Insurance and for Leo Wells at Wells and Associates, where she retired. She was a faithful member of the Sandy Plains ARP Church in North Carolina, Doraville ARP Church and Peachtree Corners ARP Church in Georgia. She helped and ran many programs at her churches, including VBS, Sunday School classes, youth activities, Bonclarken activities, and women of the church activities. Our Mother was a very kind, loving, compassionate soul to all she encountered in her life. She loved all with her entire soul and showed it. She was the best Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and Friend to many. Surviving her are her daughters, Lori and James Kinnard, and Paula Durham Purser, and honorary son, Andy Kinnard. Her grandchildren, Will and Elizabeth Lewis, Ashlyn and Stratton Bennett, Anna Marie Purser (R Kyle Nunn), Spencer Lewis (Rachel Mauldin), Casey Purser, and Brendan Kinnard. Her Great Grandchildren, Emma Lewis, Griffin Lewis, and Weston Lewis. Survived also by her sister, Linda and David Cantrell, her brothers, Ray Brown, Gettys Brown (Terry Sellars), and brothers-in-law, Harold and Jean Durham, Robert and Grace Durham, Albert and Mickey Durham, and Ray Durham and many nieces and nephews. Her memorial service will be held at Peachtree Comers ARP Church in Norcross on April 30, 2022 at 3:30. Visitation will be at 2:30. Her service will be presided over by Reverend John Dorr and Reverend Harper Price. We ask instead of flowers that you make donations to Peachtree Corners ARP marked for Bonclarken.
