Phillip Lanier White, 73, of Marietta, GA went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 7. He passed away the way he lived his life, always taking care of his family.
Phillip graduated from Marietta High School and attended Kennesaw State University before having a life-long career in telecommunications with AT&T. He was a member of Mt. Bethel Church. He was a selfless man.
Phillip loved his family. His true passion was spending time with all. Earlier with a young family, he volunteered as a Little League Coach for countless baseball seasons; later as Scout Master chaperoning outings, summer camps, and adventures; planning family trips across the country; and always being there when needed. He was larger than life.
Phillip loved sharing his skills and knowledge, always willing to lend a hand. There was no project or task too large to accomplish. He always had time for his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was a patient man. He had a kind soul.
Phillip loved being outside, working in his yard or tinkering in the garage. He never turned down a conversation with neighbors or opportunity to help. He was a generous man.
Phillip is survived by his wife, Judy, of over 51 years of marriage; his sons, Brandon Phillip White (Elizabeth) and Matthew Kevin White (Melissa); his grandsons, John “Jack” Phillip White, Bennett Charles White, Hammond Lanier White and Matthew Hayes White; and his sister, Martha Ainsworth (Lendell).
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Service on Monday, April 24th at 10 am at Mt. Bethel Church, 4385 Lower Roswell Rd., Marietta, GA, 30068, with visitation and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Mt. Bethel Church.
He will be missed by all.
