Rafael Simon Zabala-Martinez, Sr.

Born in Aragua de Barcelona, Venezuela on February 28, 1928 was granted his angel wings, at the age of 91, surrounded by his loving family on November 8, 2019. Rafael is survived by his children Diana Elizabeth, Rafael Simón Jr., Lorrain Claire, Simone Rebecca, Franklyn Rafael, Agustín Rafael, his Sons/daughters in-law, thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great- grandchildren and Eustacia “La Vieja” Rivas. He retired from Lagoven, a Venezuelan petroleum corporation in 1983 and relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. USA. His uncommon compassion for all, earned him the love and respect of those fortunate enough to have known him. Integrity, kindness, compassion, consideration, leadership, witty, love for sports, dancing, singing, story-telling, warmth, young spirit, tenderness and affection were some of his many incredible qualities. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Vicenta E “Chenta” Sarjeant-Zabala and his son Angel Rafael Zabala-Sarjeant.
