Robert Brian Turner, age 63, passed away on August 28, 2024, in Macon, GA. Born on March 10th, 1961 in Chattanooga, TN to Carl and Ruby Turner, Robert devoted his life to helping others and will be remembered for his selflessness, good humor, and gentle care.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Kelley Turner, son Evan Turner, stepson Brandon Glover, stepdaughter Lindsay Lane, granddaughter Wrenleigh Glover, sister Kim Jenkins, nephews Matt Jenkins and Adam Jenkins, and niece Jenny Province. He was preceded in death by Carl and Ruby Turner, and Carolyn Hayes.
Robert will be remembered for his compassion, his ability to bring laughter and joy to those around him, and his devotion to making the world a better place. A devoted husband, father, and uncle, he profoundly enriched the lives of his family, leaving a lasting legacy of love and support.
A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University in 1983, Robert found his calling in the mental health field, dedicating decades of service to helping countless individuals and families on their path to healing. Robert’s career spanned roles at several mental and behavioral health providers in Tennessee and Georgia, including Parkridge Valley Hospital and Johnson Mental Health Center. His commitment to the emotional well-being of the individuals and families he served left an indelible mark on so many, and he strived to devote his life toward the growth, peace, and dignity of others.
Robert's kindness, gentle spirit, and warm sense of humor touched all who knew him. Whether in his professional or personal life, he exemplified a passion for helping those around him.
Robert’s passion for music, tinkering with guitars, and caring for animals will remain cherished by family, friends, and the many people whose lives he impacted.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, September 15th at Crosspath Church in East Ridge, TN. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Robert’s honor to The Humane Society, a cause close to his heart.
