Robert "Derek" Clark

Robert "Derek" Clark, 55, of Dallas, GA passed away on April 25, 2024.


"Derek" was born November 6,1968 to Robert Delbert Clark and Margaret Starnes Holland of Cartersville, GA.


He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Delbert Clark


Derek attended Cartersville High school and Cassville High school. He attended Franklin Financial University in Rome, GA where he obtained his financial degree. He worked as a finance manager at Heritage Nissan before his illness. Derek also was the owner of dnmimports.


He enjoyed fishing, restoring vehicles, computer, TV and computer technology, golf, vacationing with family in Gatlinburg. Derek loved riding bicycles with his daughters and watching movies with them. He enjoyed music, collecting old coins and gemstones. He had a desire to always learn new things and enjoyed researching in depth. His biggest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family and friends.


Derek’s favorite trip was to Malaysia and China in 2008, where he met and became lifelong friends with one of his favorite families.  He was a friend to everyone he met and saw the good in everyone .


He is greatly missed here on earth but Heaven has welcomed one of the most precious angels.


He is survived by his daughters, Heather Papp, Alecia Clark & Rylee Clark; mother, Margaret Starnes Holland; two aunts, and several close nephews.


A memorial service will be held in his honor at 2:00 PM on May 18, 2024 at New Visions Baptist Church, 77 Wynn Loop Road SW, Cartersville, GA 30120 with Marlon Haney officiating.
