Robert Edward Scliffet

March 21, 1939 — August 25, 2024

Robert Edward Scliffet, 85, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, in Roswell, GA. He was born March 21, 1939, in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of the late A. Edward Scliffet and Dorothy V. Replogle. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his dear sister, Barbara Rosa.

He graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School and served in the Coast Guard. Then, he began working at his father’s business, Edward’s Auto Body Shop. Upon his father’s death, he became part-owner and president of the company. He later also had business ventures in Nutri-System Weight Loss Centers and food service with six franchises in the states of Georgia, South Carolina, and Louisiana.

He was a great lover of the arts, particularly enjoying classical music, classic vocalists, opera, good movies, and tennis. He loved fine dining and was an excellent cook. He was always the life of any party. He was kind and loving, funny, charismatic, a great conversationalist, and always cared about others. Robert was never a stranger to anyone.  He will be missed more than he ever knew.

His loss will be greatly felt by his fiancée Kay Bolovschak, and nieces and nephews Patricia (Timothy) Campbell, Cynthia (Victor) Gialanella, James (Ilona) Perry, and Robert (Cynthia) Perry, and by their children and grandchildren. He will also be missed by his fiancée’s family, who he considered as his own: Shelby Parkhurst, Dianne Dellinger, Donna (Dan) Cox, Phyllis (Carroll) Baggett, Carla (Roddie) Crouch, and so many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

A private celebration of his life will be held at the Church on Dewey Cox Road in Lake City, SC, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 1 p.m., with the burial following at Poston Memorial Cemetery.
