Rosalie F Smith

Rosalie F. Smith passed away on December 24th, 2023, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren at Heritage Hospice in Marietta, Georgia. She was 84 years old. Her 2nd husband of 40 years Stanley F. Smith also died the same day; 3 hours prior, upon learning that Rosalie would not be coming home after sustaining a debilitating stroke.

Rosalie and Stan, both long-time residents of Syracuse relocated in June of 2023 from their beloved Manlius home to Georgia to be closer to family.

Rosalie born Rosalie Feinberg, March 22nd, 1939. Daughter of Esther and William Feinberg, a Jewish family from Brooklyn NY. A lover of classical music, Rosalie attended the New York City High School for the performing arts. After graduation she went to college at Ohio state achieving an MA degree in education. She then became an elementary school teacher, marrying her first husband Roy S. Sanders, and having her two children, Felicia, and Greg.

As a family they moved to Syracuse. Rosalie became a real estate agent and worked for General Electric.

Her passions were for tennis, walks around Green Lakes State Park & Erie Canal trails, as well as her precious cats!

She is survived by her son Gregory Sanders, his wife April, her 3 grandchildren Jenna, Kyle, and Joshua.

Her daughter, Felicia Rose Sanders, Stepdaughter, Renee Smith, Sister Phyllis Getter and brother-in-law, Herb, their children, and grandchildren.

A private memorial service was held on December 27th at the home of Greg Sanders and attended virtually by friends and family.

Rosalie is missed daily by family though she is held in the sacred arms of God!
