Shirley Ethel Adams was born on April 22, 1935. She grew up in Virginia Highlands (south of Atlanta) with her parents, Lillie Wansley and Harris Adams. She had no siblings. Shirley graduated from Auburn University in Alabama. After her short marriage to Bludsworth, she worked as a commercial artist, designing logos, advertisements, etc. for companies in the metro Atlanta area. She was an incredibly talented artist. From 1982 to 1999, Shirley accompanied her friend, Peggie Bauer, on many trips abroad. As they visited many exotic lands such as New Guinea, Egypt, Turkey, and Italy, the twosome experienced many unbelievable, jaw-dropping, over-the-top adventures. Peggie later related those adventures in her book entitled “Simply Incorrigible”. Shirley, the artist, and world traveler had a wonderful life until her last fifteen years. During those horrible years, she struggled with Alzheimer’s disease. She passed away on August 11, 2021.
