Stella Jo Tate

Stella Jo Tate, 85, passed away on February 1st, 2019 in Sweetwater, TN at Sweetwater Hospital. From her birth in Niota, TN, January 2nd, 1934, until February 1st on Friday morning, she spent her life dedicated to being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was born to Mildred and Millard Skelton and was 3rd born of 6 children. She retired from a 30+ year career at Macey's as a licensed hair and wig stylist. She became a wife to James R. Tate (deceased 1998) after courting for 1 year; "It was love at first sight." she'd often mentioned. She became a mother at 25 to her only daughter Sherry Wedthoff, 56. She was a grandmother to 2 grandchildren, Michael Stephen Smith, 38, and Sarah Elisabeth Wedthoff, 28. Family was Mrs. Tate's #1 priority and it showed. She will live on in our hearts forever and words cannot describe how dearly she will be missed.
