Steven Lester Lob, age 59 of Rome, Georgia went to heaven on Saturday, August 17, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on January 15, 1960, in Harvey, Illinois and was the son of Lester Alyn Lob and the late Arlene Dorothy Hanley. He graduated from Thornwood High School in South Holland, Illinois in 1978. He was employed by Bell South, which became AT&T, for over 39 years. He worked in the construction branch of the company and was one of the senior fiber-optic splicers. He was an avid motorcycle and car enthusiast, he was a member of the Outdoor Trader club and also collected rare and valuable firearms. He rode his Harley Davidson FXRS frequently with his friends and fellow club members. He was a great husband and provider for his wife, and a great father and mentor for his children. He had a wonderful sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Tami Watford Lob. His sons, Stephen Aron Trotter and Eric Alan Trotter. Granddaughters Eva Grace Trotter and Haven Trotter And Our sweet little Boston terrier, Lola Lob, his father, Lester Alyn Lob and his father's wife, Edilma Lob. His sister Doreen Likness and her husband Jeremy Likness. His niece, Lizzie Farr and her husband, Solomon Farr. And his nephew, Gordon Phillip, his girlfriend, Cierra Martin and Kru, their son. There will be no funeral since he wished to be cremated. His ashes will be scattered in a simple family ceremony only. In lieu of flowers, Steven asked that everyone donate to the Esophageal Cancer Awareness Association, you may find their website on facebook or the internet. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. There will be a celebration dinner to honor his life on Saturday, August 31, 2019, at 5:30 PM at LongHorn Steakhouse, in Rome GA.
