Susan “Sue” Lee Henry
April 11, 1944 – April 12, 2025
Susan Lee Henry, affectionately known as Sue, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, in Adairsville, Georgia, just one day after celebrating her 81st birthday. Born on April 11, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois. Sue was the oldest of three siblings: her sister Rebbie Johnson, and her brother Billy Grissom, (deceased). Sue lived a vibrant and spirited life full of love, laughter, and compassion.
Sue was a devoted mother to her three children, Donna Bass, Debbie Ritchie (Bryan), and CJ Henry (Andrea); a cherished grandmother to six grandchildren and a loving great-grandmother to three. Her family was the heart of her world, and she poured her warmth, humor, and wisdom into every moment spent with them.
A woman of many passions, Sue was known for her generous spirit; volunteering at several food banks and always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. She had a unique and whimsical sense of humor, with a deep interest in all things Bigfoot, gnomes, and aliens. Her home was often filled with laughter and stories, as well as a love for crocheting and canning.
She found joy in the simple pleasures: the beauty of daisies, gardening, creative cooking, and the thrill of an old John Wayne movie. In her younger years, Sue even embraced the excitement of off-road racing, fearless and free-spirited, much like the life she lived.
Sue’s legacy is one of love, strength, and individuality. She leaves behind a family who adored her, friends who will miss her laughter, and a world just a bit brighter for having her in it.
