Susan Ashworth was born on April 19, 1945, in Valparaiso, Indiana. She was raised in Leroy, Indiana, and graduated from Crown Point High School in 1963. She attended Huntington University and worked as an Office Manager for most of her career. She moved with her family to Georgia in 1971 and died at the age of 74 in Cumming, GA, on June 27, 2019, after a long struggle with dementia. Susan was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, and niece. Family was everything to her! She loved to plant flowers and care for her pets, and she was a wonderful cook and housekeeper. Nothing made her happier than to host her family for birthday and holiday dinners. She loved the music of Elvis Presley and Neil Diamond. She knew the value of a handmade gift and a handwritten letter and enjoyed decorating her homes through the years. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Claribel Moran, her husband, Tommy Ashworth and her dear Aunt Phillis Aplin. She is survived by her daughter Theresa (John) Atkinson and grandchildren Hayley, Jonathan and Aaron. She is survived also by her son, John Hritz, and her brothers, Tom (Beth) Moran and Doug (Cathy) Moran, and her 3 nieces, Janet, Becky and Laura and her nephew Jeff. If you wish to make a contribution in her memory, please send it to the Kouts High School Memorial Scholarship Fund established by Floyd and Velda Johnson, her late uncle and aunt.
