She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Shere’ Lund of Demorest; daughters and sons-in-laws, Kathy and Allen Rogers of Cumming, and Tang and Jon Sharpley of Tucker; grandchildren Mandy and Rudy Garcia, Jennifer and Josh Franks, Levi Sharpley, Silas Sharpley, and Abby Sharpley; great grandchildren Kate Franks, Jack Franks, Sophia Garcia, and Jeremiah Garcia; sister Linda Jinks of Georgia; her sister and brother-in-law Pamela and Michael Steele of Virginia; and numerous family members out west.
Sydney was born in her beloved state of Wyoming. She was a LOVING wife, mother, Grami, Mimi, Great Grami, Sister, Aunt, “Miss Sydney,” and a dear friend to all those who knew her. In addition, during her life she was a foster parent to 40+ children, organist, kindergarten teacher, children’s choir director, hand bell choir director, DOK parish chapter leader, arts and crafts director, and a full-time volunteer. She loved her Heavenly Father, her family, “the west,” mountains, camping, wildlife, cooking, making gingerbread houses, and helping anyone in need.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to either St. Jude’s: Sydney Lund Memorial Fund; Best Friend Animal Society; or, another meaningful charity of your choice in her memory.
