Tammy Sue Machleit Crowe, age 54, entered her heavenly home on Friday, February 25, 2022. After a years-long, hard-fought battle with her health, she passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. Tammy was born on January 6, 1968, in Detroit, Michigan, and relocated to Cedar Bluff, Alabama, in 1981 with her family. She was a former x-ray technician and medical professional at various hospitals and practices in Northwest Georgia and a lifelong advocate for kidney donation organizations. Tammy was proceeded in death by her grandparents JC and Sue Butler, Myron and Anna Machleit; father-in-law, George Crowe Jr.; mother-in-law, Ruby Hall Crowe; and sister-in-law, Tina Gazaway. She is survived by her husband, George Crowe III; children, Aleshia Crowe and Brad Crowe; two grandsons, Garrett (Zoey Cook) and Griffen Heaps; parents, Doug and Gloria Machleit; brother Jay (Amanda) Machleit; five nieces and their children, Carrie (Brad) Arledge (sons Cooper Lancaster, Bryson and Jayden Arledge), Cayla Machleit, Chelsea (Austin) Evans (son Ace Evans), Allison and Riley Crowe; brother-in-law Ralph (Mandy) Crowe; three nephews and their children, Bobby Hunt, Blake (Leslie) Gazaway (children Bryce and Josie Blair), Lance Gazaway (daughter Lyla Gazaway); several Great Aunts and Uncles; several close cousins; and her fur babies, Rosie and Reese Crowe, and Costa Machleit. Tammy was an incredibly kind, giving person who loved spending time with her family, fur babies, and friends. She always went out of her way to make others feel cherished even when she was experiencing pain. Throughout her struggles, she always remained positive. Tammy loved to travel and to create beautiful things from seemingly ordinary objects. More than anything, Tammy loved the Lord, so her family and friends take comfort in knowing that she is now pain-free and surrounded by love. Per her wishes, there will be no formal memorial service but a private celebration of life will be held at a later date for immediate family members. Our greatest wish as Tammy’s family is for everyone to remember her as the kind, loving, brave person she was for her entire life. While no amount of time with Tammy would ever be enough, those blessed enough to have known her know that she would want everyone to be a little nicer and shine a little brighter. Please consider donating to The National Kidney Foundation, your local dialysis center, and/or becoming an organ donor in her honor.
