Thomas Dean Crook, age 64 a Navy veteran, passed away at home on Friday May 15, 2020. Son of Harry and Sara (Summers) Crook. Tom was born August 15, 1955 in Dayton, Ohio lived there his whole childhood, only leaving as young man to move to Georgia. Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years Cathy (Combs) Crook, his son Thomas Thurl Crook, his mother Sara (Summers) Crook, and both sets of grandparents Glenn and Haysel (Jones) Summers and Dewitt and Mary (Orth) Crook. Tom is survived by his daughters Chrystal McFadden and Kerri Crook and son Harrison Crook. His father and step mother Harry and Geraldine Crook, his brothers Michael and Dana Crook, sister Kelli (David) Moulden. Step siblings Vicki (Dennis) Crowe, James (Teresa) Kinnison and John Kinnison. As well as several nieces and nephews. Tom was blessed with fourteen grandchildren Joey, Damian, Chandler, Harlee, Jakob, Aaleeyh, Tara, Eras, Hadden, Harlee, Holden, and Wyatt, Liam and Lucas and three great grandchildren. Tom was a musician who had an affinity to beat his drums enough to irritate his siblings. After many years of aggravation he turned into an awesome drummer and played in several bands in the Atlanta area. Tom was a printer, a trade taught by his father. He was a handy man, owning his own business and working in the greater Atlanta area for several years. He loved camping with family and friends, and enjoyed any family gatherings, where he’d shared a laugh and a beer or two. He loved to travel, he sailed the seas on the Navy’s dime when he served as a boiler technician on the USS Columbus. Ironic that he joined the Navy and left Ohio to serve on a ship named after the state capital. After his time in the service he sailed the seas on his own dime. Spending time cruising with family and friends. After one more trip back to Ohio with his surviving son Harrison, there will be a graveside service planned at a later date. Thomas will be buried in Valley View Memorial Gardens in Xenia Ohio. There will be a joint service for both Thomas and his son Tommy. There will be a celebration of life for both on June 27, 2020. This is based on the states current rules on gatherings. We will notify everyone if and when the celebration will take place. Leaf Crematorium is assisting the family with final arrangements. The family wishes to thank everyone for their kind words or actions during this trying time.
