Timmie Jerome Brown

June 2, 1962 — May 21, 2024

Timmie Jerome Brown, known affectionately as Timmie to his loved ones, embarked on his heavenly journey on May 21, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer.

Timmie spent his last days with his faithful and loving beautiful wife Dianna, that is the jewel of they marriage, he love her so dearly.

He also spent his last days with his family and his best friend Cynthia Hill too.

Born on June 2, 1962, in the warm community of Bastrop, Louisiana, Timmie's life was marked by an unwavering spirit and an infectious zest for life that touched everyone he met. He drew his last breath surrounded by love in Marietta, Georgia, leaving behind a legacy of joy, faith, and perseverance.

Timmie's early life in Bastrop laid a strong foundation for the remarkable man he would become. A proud graduate of Bastrop High School, his formative years were spent under the nurturing gaze of his loving mother, Virginia Williams, and alongside his cherished siblings.

Timmie was preceded in death by his father, Henry Harris, affectionately known as Bubba, his stepfather, Edward Williams, and his grandparents, Mattie and Robert Brown. Also his wonderful sister Sheila Kyles.

His beautiful son, Tavares Coleman, also joined the ancestors before him.

The heart of Timmie's life was his family. He is survived by his devoted mother, Virginia, and his children, Nicorrie Gordon (Garrick Sr) and Marcus Haynes, who will forever cherish his memory.

Timmie's joy was multiplied with the birth of his only grandchild, Garrick Gordon Jr who will carry on his grandfather's legacy.

His loving sisters, Neoma Williams and Angela Reyes (Robert), his caring brother, Andrew Williams (Meggan), and his brother Jerry Saunders, will miss his presence deeply.

Timmie also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Emma Brandy, his stepdaughters, Charlene, Tiffany, and Tieashia, and step-grandchildren, Jade, Juliana, Benjamin, and Brayden, who all held a special place in his heart, along with a host of family and friends.

Professionally, Timmie dedicated his career to being a Maintenance Technician, a role in which he demonstrated exceptional skill and commitment. His work was not just a job but a testament to his reliability and the strength of his character.

Timmie had a passion for the Bible, with the Book of Revelation holding a particular fascination for him. He often shared that if he were to preach, it would be about the revelations and mysteries within that profound text.

Timmie's love extended to the gridiron, where he cheered on the Pittsburgh Steelers with fervor, and to the world of television, where he indulged in the twists and turns of "The Young and the Restless." His laughter echoed in the great outdoors, a place where he felt free and at peace.

Described as loving, funny, and faith-filled, Timmie's life was a beacon of hope and inspiration. He showed us that no matter the trials we face, our spirit can remain unbroken and our hearts full of love. As the motivational speaker Les Brown once said, "You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream." Timmie lived by these words, continually setting goals and dreaming dreams, inspiring all who knew him to do the same.

Timmie Jerome Brown's story is not one of sorrow but of celebration—a celebration of a life well-lived and a man greatly loved. His memory will continue to motivate and guide us, as we remember his laughter, his love, and the wisdom he shared. Today, we honor Timmie not with tears, but with gratitude for the time we had with him and the lessons he left behind. May we all strive to live as Timmie did, with courage, love, and a touch of humor, making the most of every moment we are given.
