Vera Lou Gravley

Vera Lou Post Gravley, 91, of Menlo, GA passed away on June 09, 2022. She was preceded in death by her Husband, John T. Gravley; daughters, Charlotte Johnston, Gwen Brookshire and Gloria Gail Gravley; sons, Glenn Gravley and Carl Gravley and one grandson, Dustin Chastain. She is survived by her children Doyle (Patti) Gravley, Cindy (Mike) Chastain and Clinton Gravley; siblings, Carson Post, Kenneth Post and Patsy Lovinggood; grandchildren, Wanda McCleskey, Ricky Hulsey, Rhonda Robertson, Dewayne Gravley, Donald Brookshire, Debbie Goodner, April West, Megan Howell, Jason Gravley, John Gravley, Joni Baxter, Jarrett Gravley, Josh Gravley, Michael Chastain, Dustin Chastain, Chris Gravley and Christine Gravley; 29 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a special granddog named Pepper. She loved her so much. Today we said goodby to our loving mother and grandmother. She was such a caring and giving soul. Through her life she served God through helping others. She spent most her life fighting for others breath. She has always loved taking care of as many as she could. She has raised and fed brothers, nephews, cousins, sons and grandchildren even though she had little to nothing to start with. If I've learned anything from this woman it is that it doesn’t take money or material things to help those in need. Up into her 80’s she walked roads and trails to keep herself in shape. She has always been a fighter, the will to survive out weighing any worry of her needs of personal stuff. Now I thank her, I thank her for the life long lessons. As she fought for her life I hope she will know how much she has taught all that was around her how to truly love. We will miss her greatly.
