William Andre Johnson

January 19, 1940 — March 10, 2020

William (Andre’) Johnson, 80, of Cartersville, GA went to Heaven on March 10th, 2020. He was born on January 19th, 1940 in Cartersville, GA and was the son of the late Obie Johnson and Sarah (Moates) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Vonzell Johnson. Andre’ was an avid golfer, loved working craft shows and camping with his wife of 61 years, Julia. They were members at Tabernacle Baptist Church and loved attending church on Sunday. He was retired from Lockheed Martin and Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. The world is a little darker without him and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends that he leaves behind. He leaves behind a brother, Sam Johnson, sisters, Gwen Newsome and Sherri (Steve) Perkins, his son, Jeffrey Johnson, a granddaughter, Courtney (Kyle) Sumner, great-grandchildren, Easton and Paisleigh Sumner, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church on Saturday, March 14th, 2020 at 10 o’clock in the morning. Following the memorial service, the family will gather at Oak Hill Cemetery for a private graveside service. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please donate to Tabernacle Baptist Church (www.tabernaclebaptist.org). The family would like to thank Nick Startup. All of your help has made this difficult time a little easier for all of us.
